Ayahuasca Artist: David Esquibel
AYAHUASCA ARTIST: DAVID ESQUIBEL
David was born in Pucallpa in the central Amazon in Peru. His parents were farmers, working on a slash and burn plot in the jungle. David and his 7 siblings were raised by his mother and uncle, ayahuasca visionary artist Pablo Amaringo. In 1988, when his uncle Pablo started the Usko-Ayar Amazonian School, David was one of the first 14 students. He displayed immediate talent, and his life as an artist began almost immediately.
David has presented his work in multiple galleries throughout the world. In 1992 he was invited to the International Museum of Children’s Art in Oslo, Norway, where some of his paintings are still permanently on exhibition. His works follow the tradition of his uncle, with great creativity, depth of experience, and brilliant color. His gallery is in central Iquitos on Raimondi Street 244, where his works can been seen and purchased. More of his work can be found on his blog: www.davidamaringo.com.
